Kelly Marie's Birthday Blog Hop

It's Kelly Marie's birthday & we're celebrating in style with a BIG blog hop!  (Kelly is one of the owners of Lawn Fawn & is just as cute & sweet as the products she creates.)

You can find the full list of participants here at the beginning of the hop.  Hopefully you arrived from Vera Yate's blog.

I decided to make a birthday card for Kelly using the So Much to Say stamp set.  (Isn't that the cutest little sunshine?!?)  I cut out a cheery frame using the Say Cheese die.

I hope you have the best birthday, Kelly Marie!

Your next stop on the hop is Jennifer McDermott!

Trendy Trios: Chalkboard

Now that school is back in session, I thought it would be fun to feature the chalkboard trend for this month's Trendy Trios class.

You can find the step-by-step video tutorial & all of the supplies here.
For the first card, I went very literal with the chalkboard concept.  This school-themed stamp set by Lawn Fawn is just too cute!  I also love this school ephemera found in the Two Peas vintage grab bag.
There are so many chalkboard themed products on the market!  I especially love this framed paper from My Mind's Eye.  I had so much fun filling in the spaces with colorful doodads.
Of course, you can also get the chalkboard effect with stamps!  This set from Mama Elephant is just gorgeous!
I hope you'll join in my challenge & upload a project to the Two Peas gallery that includes a chalkboard element!  Psst!  There's a Two Peas gift card up for grabs for one lucky participant!  ;)

A Sale, A Card, & other Scrappy News!

Hello, hello!  I'm popping in to share a few fun things with you today.
First of all, there is an awesome sale going on at Two Peas right now!
The entire store is on sale, including workshops!  If you've been on the fence about signing up for my Journey Into Card Making workshop, now is a great time.  The online, self-paced class is only $9.60 this week!

There's also a new scrapbooking workshop available now by Jill Sprott called Scrapbooking from the Soul.  I just signed up myself!  Jill is AMAZING & this is a topic that I'm super excited about.  (Jill's class is only $9.60 this week too!)

I also picked up a few other things from the Two Peas sale.

This vintage grab bag looks perfect for documenting the upcoming school year!

I also picked up this new exclusive stamp set designed by Shimelle Laine for Two Peas.  It's perfect for my not-so-perfect life.  :)

I was excited today because my new Big Shot die cutter arrived today.  I had a Cuttlebug, but I *might* have broken it by trying to emboss things that have no business being embossed.  (Note to self:  wood veneer does not make a good impression in cardstock, no matter how hard you try to crank the knob of the die cutter.)

I needed a die cutter to to work with the new Letterpress tools that are coming from Studio Calico.  Have you seen the latest class?  Sign ups are going on now & you can find all of the exclusive plates + other tools here.

So, now that I have a functioning die cutter, I can finally use those cool metal dies from Lawn Fawn that I've been drooling over.  The dies match up perfectly with their stamps, making card making a cinch!  P.S. They're on sale at Two Peas this week too!
One of my favorite stamp sets right now from Lawn Fawn is their Critters in the Dog Park set.  There's a dog that looks similar to a French Bulldog in the set... but after I added a few extra lines & colored it in, it looked just like our Boston Terrier!  My son flipped.  He loves anything that resembles his best four-legged friend.

I used the Quinn's ABCs stamp/die combo for the sentiment.  Easy peasy!
The dog paws are also from the Critters set.  I just stamped them with Versamark & it worked perfectly with the black cardstock.

The heart 3x4 card & paper are from this month's Marks & Co kits from Studio Calico.  I used the exclusive stitching template in the Main Scrapbooking kit as a guide for hand-stitching the 3x4 card.

Thanks for taking a peek at my project & for visiting today!  Hope you have a good one!

Trendy Trios Video Series: Stars

This month's Trendy Trios class features one of my favorite trends. It's perfect for boys & girls alike! It's great for creating projects for celebrations, school related themes, or for any occasion!

Even though “stars” have been around since the beginning of time, this simple shape has really become a trendy icon lately. Companies have also started to branch out from this trend a bit by focussing on constellation prints.

You can watch the full video tutorial for these projects here

You'll also want to check out the FREE digital download that allows you to create your own coordinating paper confetti!  So fun.  :)

I used a lot of new BasicGrey goodies in my video.  This is a card I made for my son's first day of middle school:

And here is a card I made by custom cutting chipboard.  Just call me Edward Scissorhands.  (For those of you who are too young to get this reference, I'm sorry.  Just don't tell me & I won't feel so old.)  ;)

There's always a challenge that goes with each class, so make sure to check it out for your chance to win a Two Peas gift card!

Make sure to start your hop at the Two Peas blog & then follow the links to see what inspiration is in store!
Make sure to check out my latest Trendy Trios series on May 1st!  April's trendy theme was the color gold & next month's theme features color too... with a fun twist.
Did you know that Two Peas releases a new video each & every day?

I've started watching a video or two while on the treadmill & I can't believe how much more enjoyable exercising has become!  I finished two videos, looked down & realized I had clocked over two miles.  I call it the Two Peas Fitness Plan.  ;)  Distraction is not just for children, my friends!  It works wonders on adults too.

OK... so I know this section is for FIVE products, but I just couldn't narrow my faves down from six.  Just consider this a bonus.  ;)
#1. Daily Details stamp set by Elle's Studio

Perfect for adding that special touch to your Project Life album!
#2. Kate & Co. collection from My Mind's Eye

Seriously.  I don't know if you could find a more beautiful floral.  The "B" side is super fun too.  Love the navy stripes!
#3. Luxe Rub-ons by Pink Paislee

I love rub-ons & these are so trendy and cool!  The small shapes would make the perfect accent.

I just got this fun trim in my hot little hands & it has quickly become a favorite!  The ombre effect of the multicolored strand is just drool-worthy!

I love text added to paper crafted projects & these filter sheets are such a unique new product!  I can't wait to try them out!
#6. White Washi Tape by Freckled Fawn

I have washi tape in every color & pattern... but I don't have anything like this!  I think the idea of white washi is just brilliant.  This roll is in my shopping cart & I can't wait to try it out.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today!  Make sure to hop over to the next stop, which is...

Two Peas Gardeners' Digest - March Edition

Welcome to the Two Peas Gardeners' Digest - a monthly blog hop with the Garden Girls!

You can begin your hop at the Two Peas blog & then follow along to see all of the posts today.

I'm really excited about the next installment of the Trendy Trios series!  I'll be focussing on a glamourous trend that I think you're going to love!  Make sure to join me at Two Peas on April 1st!  (No joke!)

Are you ready for a little crafty enabling?  ;)

Here are some of my top picks from the Two Peas shop:

I just ordered this stamp set.  I think it rocks & I can't wait to ink it up.  I think it's going to work really well in my Project Life album too because half of my life is spent crafting! (... or at least it feels like it sometimes.)

#2. The Composition & Color Collection by Alison Kreft/Webster's Pages

Oh me, oh my!  Seriously.  This collection just makes my hands sweat & my heart flutter.  It just feels like "me" & that makes me want to snatch it all up & wallpaper my house in it.  If you were a Hambly fan back in the day, you'll be as excited as I am to see Alison's work again. (P.S. There are also transparencies!!!)

#3. Basics Candy Buttons by Basic Grey

I have a strong addiction to enamel dots & these need to come live in my house!  This shade of blue is my favorite right now & yellow is my all-time favorite color... so it's a match made in heaven in my book!  I love that they come in so many different sizes too.

#4.  The Road Trip Collection by Chic Tags

I just ordered some of these adorable new embellishments & I can't wait to have them in my hot little hands.  I love how the note tags lift for added memos & the file die cuts are going to be perfect for my cards, layouts & Project Life!  The colors are beautiful & I love their trendy design.

#5. Daphne's Closet by Lawn Fawn

When you pair ubber cuteness with a retro flair, you get one of my favorite product picks!  I love the awesome patterns & colors in this collection.  Daphne, I'd raid your closet any day!

I am head-over-heels in love with this project by Catherine Davis called Preschool Projects.

She took photographs of her children's art projects, shrunk them down using Photoshop & added them to Project Life cards.  I have a huge tote full of my boys' projects & I think this method of memory keeping is just brilliant!  I love the clothespins holding up each piece of art too.  :)

Thanks for dropping by!  The next stop on the hop is the lovely & talented Shimelle Laine!  Hop on over to see what she's up to today!  :)
