Trendy Trios: Triangles {video}

This month at Two Peas, our focus is on shapes.  Who knew shapes could be so cool!?!  (Check out all of these trendy scrappy goodness!)

I had a lot of fun playing with shapes in this month's Trendy Trios video!  Triangles are hot, hot, HOT right now & there are a million different ways to use them.

In my trio of cards, I used stamps, masks, die cuts, washi tape & embellishments... all with the central theme of triangles. - And that's just scratching the surface of what you can do with this simple shape.

You can watch the video below or directly on YouTube.

Here are the projects featured on my video.  You can find all of the supplies used & lots of other amazing triangle-themed products by clicking here.

I kind of flipped when I saw this doily die cut from Maggie Holmes.  It's just the most gorgeous color... and the triangle die-cuts in the center frame this sentiment perfectly!

I also discovered that Maggie's washi tape sheet makes a pretty cool transparent accent when trimmed just right.

This one is packed with triangle goodness.  :)  I love the triangle mask & it looks so cool in person with the Mister Huey's Shine mist.  The triangle stamps & banners were another Studio Calico "triangle find."  Triangle banners?!?  Doubly trendy!  That hand-written font from this SC stamp set just rocks, btw.

And I can't fail to mention this polka-dot preppy horse rub-on by Dear Lizzy.  I wish I had 5000 of them.  I love them that much.

And last but not least, how cute is this elephant die-cut from Glitz Designs?!?  I tied a little string on his trunk.  He's forgetful sometimes, you see?

People seem to be freaking out about stitching wood veneer with their machines.  ;)  I promise - no machine was injured during this video production.  The key is to take it slow.  If you look closely, the stitches actually go around each section of the letters, hugging them in place.  If you pierce through them, there's a good chance they'll split because they are so narrow & delicate.  I have, however, sewn right through larger wood veneer pieces with no trouble at all.

Thanks for taking a peek at my projects!  I had so much fun creating them & I hope you'll give triangles a try on your next project.  :)

Two Peas Gardeners' Digest - February

Welcome to the Gardeners' Digest - a monthly blog hop from the Two Peas In a Bucket Garden Girls!

You can begin the hop at the Two Peas blog.  If you've come from Paige Evans' blog, you're on the right track!

Make sure to check back on March 1st for the next Trendy Trios feature!  I've got some fun projects in the works & I can't wait to share what next month's trend is!

I am completely in awe of Corrie Jones' style!  I could just look at this page all day!  I love the way she mixes art & embellishments... and she knows how to really tell a story.

1.  The new Yes, Please collection (Amy Tangerine for American Crafts) just arrived at Two Peas!  One of my favorite pieces are these rub on transfers.  I used the camera (page 2 not shown) as a template to hand-stitch this card that I created for Shimelle's blog earlier this week.

2.  Farm Animals wood veneer by Studio Calico
There is so much to love about these new wood pieces!  Horses are so trendy right now & I love this preppy horse silhouette found in this set.  Of course, I'm a country girl & the goats, cows & chickens remind me of my childhood.  Makes me feel all warm & fuzzy inside.

3. Good Times stamp set by Mama Elephant
I love a good sentiment set & this one just tops them all!  I love the trendy sayings & fun fonts, not to mention the cute balloons & bow.

What's better than washi tape?  How about a washi page!?!  You can cut the strips apart & use them like traditional washi or die cut to create a fun multi-patterned embellishment.

5. The Dear Lizzy Lucky Charm collection
I am head-over-heels in love with this whole line.  The soft colors mixed with navy just make me giddy.  There are preppy horses in this collection too, which just rocks.  Make sure to check out the red polka dot vellum in this collection too.  Yum-o!

I am crazy excited about this workshop by Wilna Furstenberg!
