Finally Friday: ViewMaster Card

Did any of you grow up in the 80's? If so, this ViewMaster card probably brings back a lot of memories. :)

You can watch me create it step-by-step in this week's Two Peas Finally Friday video.

I love patterned paper, but sometimes there are a few pieces of a collection that are a bit challenging to work with. For today's tutorial, I decided to face my fears & find a way to use the photo booth print from October Afternoon's new Midway collection.

To my amazement, this paper that I once viewed as a challenge has now become one of my favorite prints in the collection!

How fun is this new washi tape?!? I love how the word bubbles are hidden until you open the card. :)

Two Peas Gardeners' Digest: July Edition

Welcome to the Gardeners' Digest, a monthly update from the Garden Girls, the design team at Two Peas In a Bucket!
Need a fun way to package up a gift card? In this week's Finally Friday video, I show you how you can create a fun flip card that also doubles as a gift card holder.

I'll be using some pages from one of Amy Tangerine's Daybooks. The pages are easy to separate & you can use the remainder of the book to create a summer mini book or travel journal!

In the video, I'll show you some new ways to use washi tape. I'll also be utilizing glassine bags to create some unique packaging.

This Seasoned Traveler layout by Anabelle O'malley:

I just love everything about this page! The Silhouette die-cuts... the pops of amazing color - it's all just utter eye candy!

1. Basic Grey Clippings Garland: The new Clippings collection is fantastic & this is one of my favorite pieces! The page is full of stitched banner pieces. It's one of those things that looks even 100x's cooler in person. :)

2. Lisa's Truesdell's online Divide & Conquer Workshop: I just took this workshop & can't rave on it enough! It's perfect for those who have a collection of memorabilia & photos from a trip or event & want a creative & easy way to document it all. She gives so many great tips & her tutorials are very easy to follow. And... for only $12, it's a steal! I just ordered my Simple Stories album & am ready to create a mini book from our vacation this summer.

3. Hello Forever Journaling Cards: If you haven't taken a look at the Two Peas digital shop lately, make sure to check out all of the printable journaling cards that are available. They're perfect for Project Life & even make great focal points for cards.

4. Whisker Graphics Envelopes: I used a couple of these glassine envelopes in my Finally Friday video (above) & use them all the time in my PL album as well. (They're all only $0.25 each!) The smaller ones are the perfect size for gift cards or journaling cards & the larger ones make great card envelopes or gift packaging.

5. Crate Paper's Little Boy Blue Collection: The classic patterns & sweet colors in this collection are made for so much more than baby projects! I have been using the paper over & over for all-occasion cards. The colors are so cheerful & I love the primary palate of blue, red & green.

Today, I have TWO giveaways for two of my lovely blog visitors. To be eligible to win one of these prizes, leave a comment on this post. I'll draw a winner on Saturday, July 28th. (Make sure to leave your Two Peas user name in your comment so that the class can be added to your account.)

New Finally Friday Video Tutorial + a Giveaway!!!

I got to play with some of Studio Calico's new Heyday mistable cameras for this week's Finally Friday video at Two Peas... and had so much fun, I couldn't stop with just one card! (Speaking of Heyday, the complete collection is now available!)

In this week's video, I share how you can make both a feminine and masculine card using the same basic supplies.

I am also thrilled to be able to give away one spot in this new workshop called Divide & Conquer by Lisa Truesdell!

DETAILS:

Cost of class: $12

Description:

If you have the best intentions with mini albums – but not the best follow through – then it’s time to Divide and Conquer! Garden Girl Lisa Truesdell will walk you through the steps of using divided page protectors to turn a hodge podge of memorabilia and photos into a beautifully finished mini album. We’ll explore putting together a kit to work from, selecting what photos and keepsakes will make the cut, and fun techniques perfect for this style of book. Lisa also has lots of tips on keeping your motivation up & making the process fun until the last embellishment is in place, and will be sharing a peek at additional sample layouts from three other contributors, each working with a different themed album.

This self -paced workshop will let you work at your own speed through the chapters – each chapter is accompanied by a helpful PDF walking you through the process and a 10-minute video sharing a closer look at how Lisa’s album came together. These videos are technique-based and will explore creating a die-cut cover, working with transparencies to build a two-sided layout, making custom sized page protectors and techniques for working with pockets.

Lisa is using the Simple Stories Documented 6x8 Mix & Match Mini Album available for purchase separately, however, these same principles may be applied to an album of any size using divided page protectors.

The content of this workshop will be available immediately upon purchase. The lessons are available for you to work at your own pace and upon purchase can be accessed in the "Workshops" section under "Classes & Events." A private message board forum is also available to ask questions for Lisa and to connect with other participants. Enjoy!
