My New *Awesome* Washi Tape Organizer

I love crafty organization *almost* as much as the products themselves.  ;)  One of my current obsessions right now is washi tape.  I've had a few different storage ideas for it over the years, but as my collection has grown, I needed to make some changes.

I wanted a storage solution where I could quickly see what color/style options I had available at a glance.  My tapes were previously all thrown into a large bin... and it worked ok, but I always had to dig around for a little while & I never really knew what I had for sure.

I saw this spice rack on Amazon & I decided to give it a try.  (I got the largest one they offered, but there are several smaller versions available if your collection isn't quite as large or if you don't have the space.)

Here's a video clip of my washi storage in action.  I love how the drawers slide out & can click down to an angled view.  It makes it nice when you're working with a color family and want to select different tapes while you're working on a project.

I'm so in love with my new washi storage!  I think it's just perfect & hope it gives you some ideas for your own storage needs.

February Studio AE from Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

I'm so excited to be joining the Technique Tuesday team for their blog hop this month!  February's Studio AE stamp set is called Favorite Story by Ali Edwards.  As soon as I saw this set, I knew it would be perfect the perfect addition for my Project Life album!

Now... I have to preface this post by saying that I am brand-new to scrapbooking.  I am a paper crafter & cardmaker... but the idea behind Project Life completely stole my heart.  And actually, as you'll notice, I've adapted a very eclectic version of PL.  I like to call my system Project REAL Life. (Sometimes I do an entire week on a two week spread, sometimes I do a full page just on one day... and sometimes I skip several days entirely.  I like to use random products & reach for whatever I'm drawn to at the time.)  I'm just excited to finally find a system that I can use to record my family's day to day life.  It's not perfect by far, but it's a way to keep my memories & it makes me happy.  :)

I used a variety of Technique Tuesday stamps & loved how they fit in my divided page protectors!

The Favorite Story stamps are perfect for creating your own journaling cards!  I think I'm going to stamp up several just to have on hand for future pages.

I used Ali's Loving Words set for the sentiment below & the hearts are from her Love Always Wins set.  I stamped the number 1 from the December Daily set onto my playing card to reflect the date.

Even though the December Daily set is designed for holiday projects, most of the images are perfect to use all year long.  The lined journaling box and date oval are both from the set.  The sentiment is from the Love, Ali set.

I used part of an image from Love, Ali for the circular embellishment below:

I have to also mention one of my favorite new gadgets!  The Pogo is a portable printer by Polaroid that prints 2x3 borderless photos.  (You can also print Polaroid-style prints with the white border by downloading a free Pogo app on your smart phone.  The printer is bluetooth compatible.)  The REALLY cool thing is that this printer requires NO INK!  The photos are developed with Zink technology & it uses heat to create the print.  I purchased my Pogo on Amazon for under $40 & the photo paper is very inexpensive as well.)

The sentiment "things remembered" is also from the December Daily set, stamped onto washi tape.

Finally Friday Video: Chevron Greetings

Each Friday one of the Garden Girls from Two Peas In a Bucket shares a video - creating a card from start to finish.  Today, I have a card & video showing you how to create a chevron pattern using Washi tape.

It's a fun technique & it combines several of my favorite trendy things.  I had a lot of fun making it & I hope you enjoy it too!

Here are the products I used on my card.  You can also find a huge assortment of washi tape HERE in the Two Peas shop.
