TGIF!!! Only 2 more work days after today... and I'm on vacation for a week! Whoot! Whoot! I can't wait! :)
Today, I have a card to share with you for Unity's Friends With Flair day! Do you remember that funky paper I used yesterday on my floral card? Well... this paper is from the same collection (We R Memory Keeper's Merry & Bright) & I just LOVE it!
This card was SO simple to make. The paper does all the work for you! I just stamped a cute little tree from Unity's Joy & Wonder set & heat embossed it... popping it up with some dimensional tape. The pink tree is a sticker from the same collection by WRMK & the sentiment is from Unity's Embellished Season set. A few yummy hot pink rhinestones from Kaiser... and the front was all set! :)
And... here's the inside of my card. The sentiment is from the same kit as above.Girly and pink. I think I must have needed a little Estrogen release or something. It makes me feel happy just looking at it. :)
Have you seen the latest Moxie Fab World challenge?!? I am a sucker when it comes to folk design. There's just something about it that makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. I found this AWESOME paper collection months ago by Kaiser Crafts (Mumma Bushka) and have been waiting for the perfect time to cut into it. One of the pages is full of large Matryoshka dolls and I wanted to use one of them for my focal point.
This project started out as a card... but then I spotted this cute packaging from Making Memories & I knew I had to utilize it. So... I dumped out the embellishments that it held and 'recycled' it to become a neat Christmas gift box.
I did a lot of work to my doll to make her look Christmas-y and festive. First, I cut some patterned paper to fit her belly... and then I used Copics to change the color of the rest of her outfit. I wanted to try my hand at the latest Embellish challenge too... so I added eyelets to her belly. Jillibean Soup makes some really cute felt flower embellishments... so I used one to create a poinsettia for her head wrap. All of my patterned paper is from Cosmo Cricket's Fa La La collection. The sentiment is from the Vintage Christmas Expressions set by CHF.
Thanks for checking out my 'Old Country' Christmas box! I hope you have a great Monday!!! :)
Still addicted to nesting dolls, that is. I just can't get enough of them! So... when I discovered the Mumma Bushka paper line by Kaiser Craft, I knew I HAD to have it! It's so fun and full of color... and works perfectly with my Matryoshka stamps by My Cute Stamps!
This first card was really fun to make. The layout is based off of this week's CPS sketch.
And... here is another card using similar supplies. The white layer is textured vellum by Papertrey ink. I love the subtle canvas feel that it has to it. The ribbon from the tag is from Fancy Pants. I wanted a trail of bling on my card, but didn't have anything that was the perfect size. So... I cut up one of my Prima crystal frames and pieced bits of it here and there and came up with just what I needed!And... below is my last card. I made a paper ruffled edge using a strip of October Afternoon Road Map paper. I usually cut about twice the length of my card, spritz the paper with a little water, and then gather it together. I stitched it in place and then hid the edges with ribbon.
I used a piece of denim and cut it using my Cuttlebug and flower die to make a custom embellishment. Then... I just layered a button and a Jenni Bowlin pearl flower on top & tucked a piece of ribbon behind to create 'leaves'. The sentiment is from the Matryoshka stamp set & if you look closely, you can see a folk flower from the same set stamped behind the words.
Thanks for visiting! I've got another post all ready to go for Hip Hop on Thursday morning... so I hope to see you soon! :)
