Both of my boys played soccer this year & last Sunday marked the end of the season. (Thank you, God!) ;) As fun as it is to watch your kids play sports, it does take up a lot of time & we're really looking forward to a little more FREE time this fall & winter.
About 45 minutes before it was time to leave for the final game, I realized that I hadn't made the soccer coach's 'thank you' gift that I had intended to whip up earlier in the week. So... in a mad dash, I grabbed all of the Crate Paper School Spirit goodies that I had and made a card & gift lickety split! I was actually pretty excited because usually it takes me hours to make anything.. and this turned out just how I wanted it to in a fraction of the time. Like I told my friend... It's GOOD to have a room full of craft supplies for last minute ideas like this! I really love everything Crate Paper released this season & the coordinating line made it SO easy to work with.
For the card, I cut out a banner from the 6x6 paper pad and popped it up a bit. The rest of the card was made with stickers, rub-ons & chipboard. The ribbon is Terracotta Tile by PTI. I used one of my favorite Lawn Fawn sets - Harold's ABC's - to spell out "COACH". (This set is SO handy!)
I found these cute little jars last month from Hobby Lobby. They were on sale for 50 cents each. Score! I just cut a circle from paper & topped it with another Chipboard piece from the CP set. I ran a strip of ribbon through my Xyron to apply adhesive & wrapped it around the rim of the lid. If you've never used a Xyron... it's a really handy machine! (and inexpensive!) There's a Product Review going on right now for the Xyron on SCS right now. You can check it out HERE. I use mine all the time! It's great to use with paper piecing too! I am trying to find that post about that seam binding you were talking about a while back--that is how I ended up on this post:) Haven't found that post--but that is ok--I'm enjoying looking back through your fabby creations:)
