I thought I would start the week off with an encouraging card. :) This past week was kind of a downer. Let's see.... our furnace stopped working on the coldest day of the year. Then, my washing machine froze. And then... our internet stopped working. So... several days and $$$ later, I have heat (thank goodness!) and I can wash clothes again... and as you can see... I have internet service. :)
I really love this funky paper by Sassafras Lass! I paired it with a tree from Unity's Tiny Trinity set, embossed in white. And... for a little texture, I cut and ripped up a piece of an old box and layered it on my card. If I have anything else break in my house, I'm sure I'll be using a lot of 'trash' for my embellishments... because I can't afford much else. ;)
I wanted to add a little embellishment to my tree, but couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. Then... I noticed how perfect the color of the heart from one of my pins matched my CS and had an idea! I used my wire cutters and snipped off the sharp 'pin' part... and voila! Instant embellishment!
Hope you have a good week! Thanks for visiting!!!

Sorry to hear you had such bad luck lately! Your card is freakin' adorable!!! I wish I could "scrappy" like that on my cards! Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteHi Julie!!!
ReplyDeleteHugs girl! I've been missing you...
I read your post and had to comment. Our furnace went out last week too... on the coldest day ever. I couldn't believe our luck. And my car isn't happy with me now. Oh well, I guess it's just stuff, but why does it have to be so darn expensive? LOL!
Miss you, sweet girl!

It seems it's always something, huh?! Right now my husband's car won't start so he has to use mine which means I don't have a car!! I like how you still mananged to make a "Believe in Yourself" card in spite of all you've been through! Keep smiling! :D
ReplyDeleteSuper cute, Julie! I love the little orange heart in the tree! And I'm glad things are calming down for you. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteJulie, look at you, the inspiration card is just wonderful even after all your major breakdowns. Thank the heavens for card therapy!!!!
ReplyDeleteI always look forward to your blog.

ReplyDeleteYou're a scrapper in every sense of the word my friend: living through a rough week and using scraps in such a cool, cool way--you've got it goin' on! Glad things are lookin' up!
