A couple of weeks ago, Prettie Girl Joanne issued a SPOOKY challenge! She double dog dared us to create something using some crafting supplies that we've been avoiding and too scared to use. I don't know about you, but sometimes I get into a rut! I almost always make a standard sized card (5.5 x 4.25) and sometimes break out and make a square card. But.... I've had these LARGE Martha Steward card bases and kept putting them aside. A big card? Me? Well... Joanne MADE me do it... and you know what? I actually LIKED making a big card for once!
Last Friday was ALSO Joanne's birthday! So I made this BIG card for her BIG day! I used my new Eat Cake set from Papertrey Ink!!! This set is SO versatile! I "needed" it! LOL! It is created in a way to allow stamping the images in layers... making it easy to add LOTS of fun colors!
I stamped the cake, added red Stickles to make the icing sparkly... and then stamped "happy" repeatedly to create a border. Then I stamped "birthday" in red and added more sparkle with a Copic Spica pen! I created a row of birthday candles along the bottom of the card and added... Yes! You guessed it! More sparkle!!!
I died my ribbon with a Copic marker to match. This is SO awesome because now I ALWAYS can have accessories that perfectly match! Love it!
Hope you get out of your comfort zone today too and use something that SCARES you! Check out what spooked the other Pretty Girls too! (See my sidebar for all of the links!!!)
