Two Peas Gardeners' Digest - April

Welcome to the April edition of the Gardeners' Digest, a monthly blog hop from the Garden Girls of Two Peas in a Bucket.

Make sure to start your hop at the Two Peas blog & then follow the links to see what inspiration is in store!
Make sure to check out my latest Trendy Trios series on May 1st!  April's trendy theme was the color gold & next month's theme features color too... with a fun twist.
Did you know that Two Peas releases a new video each & every day?

I've started watching a video or two while on the treadmill & I can't believe how much more enjoyable exercising has become!  I finished two videos, looked down & realized I had clocked over two miles.  I call it the Two Peas Fitness Plan.  ;)  Distraction is not just for children, my friends!  It works wonders on adults too.

OK... so I know this section is for FIVE products, but I just couldn't narrow my faves down from six.  Just consider this a bonus.  ;)
#1. Daily Details stamp set by Elle's Studio

Perfect for adding that special touch to your Project Life album!
#2. Kate & Co. collection from My Mind's Eye

Seriously.  I don't know if you could find a more beautiful floral.  The "B" side is super fun too.  Love the navy stripes!
#3. Luxe Rub-ons by Pink Paislee

I love rub-ons & these are so trendy and cool!  The small shapes would make the perfect accent.

I just got this fun trim in my hot little hands & it has quickly become a favorite!  The ombre effect of the multicolored strand is just drool-worthy!

I love text added to paper crafted projects & these filter sheets are such a unique new product!  I can't wait to try them out!
#6. White Washi Tape by Freckled Fawn

I have washi tape in every color & pattern... but I don't have anything like this!  I think the idea of white washi is just brilliant.  This roll is in my shopping cart & I can't wait to try it out.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog today!  Make sure to hop over to the next stop, which is...

Lawn Fawn Sneak Peek: Sunny Skies

Welcome to day #1 of sneak peeks for Lawn Fawn's new summer releases!  I knew it had been a long time since I posted, but I had no idea it had been almost a month.  Yikes!  This has been a crazy, busy season & I'm just barely keeping my head above water.

For starters, my baby sister got married last weekend!  I was her Matron (hate that word!) of Honor & it was honestly the most beautiful wedding I have ever seen.  Of course, I might be a little partial... but seeing her walk down the isle was just breathtaking.  My sister is 9 years younger than I am & it almost felt like I was watching my own daughter getting married.

But... back to what you're probably coming to hear more about - Lawn Fawn's new Sunny Skies stamp set.

This new set is just adorable! It's filled with kites, clouds, birds, and of course... a smiling sun.  It's just so happy and fun!

This is a card I made using the birds & clouds from the set.  I used a sentiment from You've Got Mail & bent it to fit in the banner. (Click on photos to enlarge.)

Btw, the cloud vellum from the Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection works perfectly with this set!  It makes such a soft, pretty background!

All of the new sets will be revealed on May 31st, so mark your calendars!  Check out the Lawn Fawn Blog for your chance to win this set & all the new release sets.  You'll also find great inspiration from all of the Design Team each day leading up to the reveal.

A Mix of New & Old

I ordered some of the new My Mind's Eye collection the other day & got to spend an afternoon crafting away.  I love days like that!  I also love it when new products inspire me to pull out some of the things I've been hoarding over the past year.  For example... the butterfly & flower in the card below are from Crate Paper's Random collection.  Why on earth have I waited this long to put them to use?!?  They're SO gorgeous!

But... it just so happened that they coordinated really well with some of my new goodies & they finally found a home on this card.

I love this sentiment from one of My Mind's Eye's new stamp sets! And... I love that the stamp sets are less than $6 a piece!  The designs are really fun and you just can't beat the price.

I cut apart my rub-on & tucked a piece behind my sentiment panel (the aqua flowers on the left.)  Then, I added a bit of stitching below the butterfly to create movement. The chevron background is from the Dear Lizzy Collection. It's yummy.  :)

February Studio AE from Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

I'm so excited to be joining the Technique Tuesday team for their blog hop this month!  February's Studio AE stamp set is called Favorite Story by Ali Edwards.  As soon as I saw this set, I knew it would be perfect the perfect addition for my Project Life album!

Now... I have to preface this post by saying that I am brand-new to scrapbooking.  I am a paper crafter & cardmaker... but the idea behind Project Life completely stole my heart.  And actually, as you'll notice, I've adapted a very eclectic version of PL.  I like to call my system Project REAL Life. (Sometimes I do an entire week on a two week spread, sometimes I do a full page just on one day... and sometimes I skip several days entirely.  I like to use random products & reach for whatever I'm drawn to at the time.)  I'm just excited to finally find a system that I can use to record my family's day to day life.  It's not perfect by far, but it's a way to keep my memories & it makes me happy.  :)

I used a variety of Technique Tuesday stamps & loved how they fit in my divided page protectors!

The Favorite Story stamps are perfect for creating your own journaling cards!  I think I'm going to stamp up several just to have on hand for future pages.

I used Ali's Loving Words set for the sentiment below & the hearts are from her Love Always Wins set.  I stamped the number 1 from the December Daily set onto my playing card to reflect the date.

Even though the December Daily set is designed for holiday projects, most of the images are perfect to use all year long.  The lined journaling box and date oval are both from the set.  The sentiment is from the Love, Ali set.

I used part of an image from Love, Ali for the circular embellishment below:

I have to also mention one of my favorite new gadgets!  The Pogo is a portable printer by Polaroid that prints 2x3 borderless photos.  (You can also print Polaroid-style prints with the white border by downloading a free Pogo app on your smart phone.  The printer is bluetooth compatible.)  The REALLY cool thing is that this printer requires NO INK!  The photos are developed with Zink technology & it uses heat to create the print.  I purchased my Pogo on Amazon for under $40 & the photo paper is very inexpensive as well.)

The sentiment "things remembered" is also from the December Daily set, stamped onto washi tape.
