Christmas 2012 Album

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas.....

Do you document your family's holiday memories?  I have a post up today on the Paper Crafts Connection blog sharing some of my ideas for documenting the season.  There's also a fun giveaway to help you get started on your own album this year!

I love looking at other people's December Daily albums online, but I just know that I wouldn't be able to keep up with an album like that this year.  The pressure of having to document something each day would probably make me want to throw in the towel after day #4, so I decided to go with a more forgiving form of documenting our family's Christmas memories.

I love these Sn@p! albums from Simple Stories!  The smaller 6x8 format is really easy to work with.  And... it comes with divided pocket protectors that are easy to fill.  It also comes with chipboard dividers & pages that coordinate with the color on the binding.  I went with the traditional red album, but there are a lot of great colors to chose from.

These wooden alphabets are from Studio Calico's Darling Dear collection.  (I discovered that using Elmer's spray adhesive on the back side of each letter works really well.)

These sequin-filled embellishments from Crate Paper are just too cute!  I had to put one front & center.

To make even more of an impact, I sprayed this brown wooden frame (also from Crate Paper) black & backed it with patterned paper from October Afternoon's Make It Merry 8x8 pad.  The music print is from the song 'Oh Christmas Tree!'  Kind of fitting, I thought.  :)

We always go to our town's Christmas Parade the day after Thanksgiving.  I knew I would want to kick of my album with these memories, so I went ahead and decorated a few pages to prepare for it.

The patterned paper above is from SC's Wonderland collection.  It comes black & white, but I saw a layout by Kelly Purkey earlier this year where she added color with mists.  I decided to give it a go & had SO much fun with it!  I just took the lids off of several colors of mist & dipped my paintbrush as I would paint.  The paper just grabs the color & makes it so easy to do.

This scene reminds me of the old buildings that line the streets in town where the Christmas Parade takes place.

I added some glitter here & there to dress it up a bit more.

I love using the "Project Life" pocket system.  It makes it so easy to decorate & get things documented.

Now I just have to print out some of our pictures from that night & I'm ready to document the next Christmas memory!

Here are some of the supplies I used on my album:
