No Place Like Home + Class Winner Announced

Wizard of Oz was always one of my favorite movies growing up.  (I could have done without the Wicked Witch bicycle scene.  That image still haunts me to this day.)  ;) So, when I saw this blue gingham paper in October Afternoon's Sasparilla collection, I knew exactly what I wanted to create.

I used my silhouette to cut a scalloped border and then picked bits & pieces from Crate Paper's Farmhouse collection that reminded me of Auntie Em, Kansas & the whole bit.

It's good to have alphabet stamps on hand when you want to create a unique sentiment.  And, I know I've mentioned it before, but Lawn Fawn's alpha stamps are seriously THE best on the market!  For one, they are clear & you can see exactly where you're stamping... but they also stamp perfectly aligned every time.  Just line them up side by side & there's no guess work about spacing.

For the word "home", I wanted to play off of Dorothy's ruby slippers, so I covered the Thickers with Glossy Accents & then poured glitter over the top.

The Studio Calico wood veneer house was just the perfect embellishment!  I might have stifled a squeal after it all came together.  ;)  I hand embroidered some smoke coming from the chimney & used additional embroidery floss to tie around my card.

You can see this and all of my Garden Girl projects in my Two Peas gallery.  (I'm a bit behind in sharing things on my blog, so there are quite a few new projects to be found.)

And now... I'd like to announce the winner of Amy Tan's new Collect & Create Workshop!
