The other day, I made a mini book for my new baby niece & was left with a table full of patterned paper scraps. Normally, I would just sort them back out and stash them back into their designated paper pads (or throw away the smallest pieces), but after reading Betsy Veldman's post on scrap organization, I decided to try something different.
I had enough scrap strips to cover 2 full sheets of 8-1/2" x 11" cardstock and cut them to size to create 8 card fronts. I was able to make this set of 4 cards in no time at all, and still have 4 card fronts that I can use the next time I need to create a quick card or gift set.
Most of my paper strips are from various October Afternoon 8x8 pads. I love OA's cute/vintage style SO much & thought the paper would work well with my Lawn Fawn stamps. I wanted a set that I could add to my stash and grab when I need to send a last minute card.
This flower vase is from the On the Mend set --- but I love it because you can use it for ANY occasion!
I die cut some adhesive-backed cork from Canvas Corp to give my card a little texture and color.
I used my same die and cut a piece of cream burlap for this card:
If you're like me & have a lot of paper scraps, you might want to give this technique a try! Make sure to check out Betsy's post for even more inspiration!

Gorgeous cards Julie! I say Betsy's post too and thought it was a winner! I'm even more inspired now that I've seen your cards to go ahead and get organising my scraps zone ;)
