With a little rain
she found her rainbow.
I read this quote a long, long time ago and kept it safely tucked into my memory to use at just the right time. These few words have so much meaning to me. If I could sum up my life story in one sentence, this is what it would be.
I decided to take the She Art Workshop initially just so that I could make a piece of art with my quote. If you'd like to learn how to make similar pieces, you should definitely check out the class! I've only watched a few videos & have already learned enough to create my first canvas. It's really a lot of fun... and now I can't stop thinking about what I want to make next!
I was really surprised how easy it was to freehand cut all of the little shapes. The face, on the other hand, was not so easy for me. I tried to draw my own face & then my ink smeared... and I got frustrated. The original She Art girls have blank faces (no eyes, mouth, etc.)... but I really wanted to give my girl a little more personality. So... I inked up one of my Suzi Blu stamps by Unity & paper pieced bits onto my canvas.
Thank you for taking a look at my first art piece! I haven't painted since college & it was SO much fun!
Gorgeous!! I love it!!
