Making a Bookmark... in a JIFFY!

Hey guys!  Today I have a fun little project for all of you bookworms out there!  It's also our Jiffy Challenge day... the time of the month where a group of my crafty friends & I get together & make something using the same basic supplies.  No one knows what the combination of paper & stamps are going to be until it hits our mail box... & it's always a ton of fun to see how everyone designs something completely unique despite the common grounds.

This month, Kim Hughes sent us some of the cutest paper from Echo Park called Sunshine.  Yellow is one of my favorite colors... so I was super excited to get to try it out!  For our stamped image this month, Michele Boyer picked Willow Writing Recipes by Whiff of Joy.

When I first looked at this stamp, I thought it looked like me as a little girl with my nose stuck in a book.  (My mom use to always put my hair in long braids.)  So... I decided to make a bookmark.  I've always loved to read, but after having kids... my free time seems to be nearly non-existent.  But... I did read three books over our vacation (the kids actually napped due to swimming all day!!!) & I have several more on order from the library.  I'd almost forgotten how fun it is to be lost in a good story.  Now I just stay up late & usually finish the entire thing at one time.  :)

And... I got to break in my new Restoration Collection from Crate Paper.  Oh my lordie!  It's so awesome.  My new favorite collection for the year.  Mmmm!

So, my friends, won't you take a look at my other friends' blogs today to see what crafty goodness they have to share?  :)

  6. Duh! A bookmark! Why didn't I think of that?! This image is perfect for that! Luckily, I have a couple more left over... This is darling, Jules! Expertly colored. I hope you get lots of reading time soon. Here's a recommendation: The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. It's actually a YA book of Truman's. He's been telling me for months that I needed to read it, so I finally did, and it's FANTASTIC! I guarantee you'll love it, and soon your own boys will be old enough to read it, too. :)
