I can't believe it's already the middle of December! Change is definitely in the air. With the end of the year upon us, I've made some big changes in my role as a designer. I've had a great year and have met so many wonderful people along the way. However, as of today, I am no longer designing for CHF. I have to admit, at first the thought of change scared me like crazy... but now, I am completely at peace with everything and excited to see what my future holds. I am a firm believer that when one door closes, another one opens. And... I can't wait to see what's beyond that door! :)
So... what does that mean to you? Well... you'll probably be seeing a lot more variety in my design work. I feel like a kid in a candy store, salivating at all of the designs and products out there in the world of paper crafting. Of course, you'll also see some of my favorite CHF images and sentiments popping up here and there too. I'm a lifetime addict of Kim Hughes' images, and I'm sure I'll be jumping on each and every new release.
This all came at a perfect time in my life. I've always wanted this craft to become more than a hobby for me... and I want to keep working toward that goal. I'm ecstatic to have my holiday FREE of any obligations (at least in this department) so that I can just enjoy my family! I'm so happy to have to opportunity to focus on my family and just be a mom for a little while.
I wanted to leave you today with a fun little card I made for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge. These Rachelle Anne Miller images are too cute... and I love Kim Hughes' sentiment paired with it!
And... here is a close-up of my iced-over pond. I used Ranger's Glossy Accents to give it a glossy look, and added Stickles here and there for a little glitz.
Stamps: "Skating" by Rachelle Anne Miller for Stampavie; sentiment "Heart Warmers" by Kim Hughes for CHF
Paper: "Snowed In" by My Mind's Eye
Ribbon: Papertrey Ink
Other: Martha Stewart snowflake punch, Ranger's Glossy Accents, Copic Markers, Basic Grey Wassail brad
.
ReplyDeleteChange is always so hard! Congrats to you...I know that wherever this leads you we will all be blessed by the beautiful projects you create! Hope you are doing well! Hugs & :)
ReplyDeleteDo you know how grateful I am for the opportunity to become your friend thru our shared tenure at the 'farm? Julie, you are an incredibly talented designer with big places to go. I adore your work, and I love your sweet, sweet spirit. {{Julie}}
ReplyDeleteP.S. I saw Fireproof last night - it was so awesome! I'll tell the part that melted my heart - when we first moved from Georgia, I missed Chik-fil-A sandwiches so bad. We were in a new city, I had an 18 month old, I was 8 months pregnant with DD2, hubby traveled constantly with his job. It was a hard time. One night, he came home from a business trip to Atlanta and walked into our bedroom about 10:00 p.m. with a Chik-fil-A bag and sandwich - he had bought it at the airport for me - unsolicited - just because he loved me...so you know what brought me to tears in that movie! :) LOL!!! Thanks for the strong recommendation! HUGS!
Julie, I'm going to miss you so much on the 'farm, but I know you'll have so much fun with the whole wide world o' rubber, and I know your talent, passion, and fun-loving nature are going to take you to new heights in stamping. Mark my words!!! (((((Julie!!!)))))
