Teacher Gift Set

My sister just finished her last semester of schooling & will soon be an Elementary teacher. She needed a gift set in a hurry to give to her host teacher where she's been student teaching. As a struggling college student, she needed something friendly on the budget, so we came up with this gift set. We covered a tin can to create a pencil holder, created a bookmark from a large paperclip, & made a bound desk calendar out of coasters!

I'm really excited about this desk calendar! For those of you who haven't heard, A Muse creates a 16 month calendar every fall that is a downloadable product after a minimum $4 donation. Proceeds from the sale of the calendar will be donated to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! It's a wonderful fund-raiser & the calendars are so handy! It also includes a Perpetual Calendar, which is great to keep up with birthdays, anniversaries, etc.! I have several 4" x 4" coasters in my craft stash & used them to make the front & back covers. But... if you don't have these coasters yet, just bring home a few disposable coasters from a restaurant! :) For $4, you can feel good about contributing to a great cause AND create gifts for all of your friends & coworkers this holiday season! I used my Bind-it-all to bind the calendar at the top, and the chipboard is heavy enough to allow it to free stand on a desk top. I left my pages blank on the inside, but you could easily stamp and decorate each month if you wanted.

This is the card that I made to coordinate with my Teacher Gift Set. It's SUPER simple, but the Lined Paper BG stamp (by Cornish Heritage Farms) doesn't need a lot of additional stamping to make it look good!

I found these large paperclips in the office supply area at Walmart! Just sandwich the clip between two scalloped squares and adhere! I added a blob of Glossy Accents around the paperclip just to really cement it in. Voila! Instant bookmark!
