If you're a blog surfer like I am, you've probably seen a lot of people picking their "word of the year" for 2008. Ali Edwards started this last year (I believe). You pick a word that you feel will be significant for you in the new year. You can click HERE to see what others have come up with.
I really wanted to give this a try, but every time I sat down to think of "My Word", this verse kept coming to my mind.
Well, it may not be "a" word, but it is "the" word, so I thought I would make this my Word for the year. I encourage you to try this out too! I can't wait until this time next year when I can look back and fully understand the importance of this Word in my life.

I love it. Oh and what truth this is. Very mighty and powerful.
ReplyDeleteI love this verse....thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeletePerfect Julie, absolutely perfect. Amazing really.
ReplyDeleteI've been away so long, I thought I had reached the wrong blog when I got here! Love the changes Julie, they seem so YOU.
ReplyDeleteI've been having trouble with a word for myself, but will persevere. Hey, maybe that should be MY word!? *chuckle*
I'm glad to be back in the swing of things and can't wait to spend time perusing all your creations that I've missed in the last two months.
Julie, I am so glad I read your entry today. What a great verse & and wonderful idea to pick out a "word" to use for the year. I visited Ali's blog and added my own word. (Zeal) - There were no Z words and after reading the dictionary definition I think it fits your word as well. Happy 2008 & may the Lord bless you.
ReplyDeleteJulie;
ReplyDeleteI just subscribed to your blog over the last few days of the holidays and I am so glad I did. I love it when I find my sisters in the Lord! My "Word" this year is... "... for I have learned in whatever situation I am in to be content." Philippians 4:11 (Paul)
So I guess my word for this year could also be "Content".
Isn't that a great verse?
I also love the one you chose.
TFS.
Kelly
This is my favorite verse! I'm so glad you went with a group of words - more of a concept, a way of living - than just a word.
ReplyDeleteI think "The Word" is a perfect word. I love this verse and think it will a great encouragement all year. Hope you get the desires of your heart.

Absolutely perfect! :)
ReplyDeleteI think it's perfect as well!!
ReplyDeleteI have lived by this verse since Nov 1989, when my firt husband and I seperated and eventually divorced..
ReplyDeleteHE was so faithful to me, that he sent my current husband within 2 months of my divorce ... it has been 18 years of marriage as of the 23 Feb 2008 and there are many more years yet to come...
I DELIGHT in HIM ALWAYS no matter the circumstance...He KNOWS me intimately... I am ALWAYS HIS!!! :)
