Happy Birthday Dad!

Today is my dad's 58th birthday! Happy Birthday Dad!!! My dad has played baseball/softball ever since he was a little kid, so I thought a baseball themed card might be just the thing.

Ok... I've got to tell you a funny story. :) This fall, my dad was having some problems with his legs swelling and went to visit his doctor. We live in a small town, so our doctor knows our family pretty well. The doc comes in the examining room and asks my dad how he's been. My dad tells him that he's been hitting a lot of singles lately, but not very many home runs. (It was baseball season) So, the doc starts writing out a script and my dad asks him what he's doing. Well... I think you all can guess what the doctor was subscribing. As soon as my dad realised it, he starts freaking out and tries to tell him that he was being literal and that was NOT what he was referring to. LOL! Of course, as my dad is leaving the office, all of the nurses are rolling! I just had to make him this card! Too bad I didn't have any samples to tuck inside. That would have been hilarious! He He He!

I created a "baseball" by cutting and embossing a circle using my newest Nestabilities Dies (from Paper Pretties Nestabilities Club). Then, I stamped my batter and colored in with Copics and Spica Glitter Pens. I used a red Spica pen to draw some "stitching" onto the "ball" and dotted the ends of the stitches with a gray Spica pen to make it even more realistic.
Stamps: Batter - A Muse;

Sentiment - Cornish Heritage Farms, Kim Hughes Collection - "Tag, You're It" set

Dotted image - Papertrey Ink (Little Lady set)

Paper: DCWV baseball paper pack
