This week's Bloggers Challenge was to use embellishments! I always like to think of embellishments as a card's "jewelry". I hardly ever wear jewelry myself, but I can't keep away from it when I papercraft!
I just got this AWESOME set of Precious Metal Hardware by We R Memory Keepers from Paper Pretties Corner Store and had to try them out. They are similar to SU's Hodgepodge Hardware, except that you get a lot better variety and quantity. This set is called 'Coppered Out', but there is also a set called 'Pewter Press' & 'Vintage Brass'. It's full of fun things like library clips, 'buckles', hinges, photo corners, and a lot more! I used one of the floral ribbon slides on this project along with a few copper brads.
This is a card I made for one of my friends who just had a baby. I really wanted to use this pretty red floral paper by Rubber Soul instead of traditional baby colors. Now that it's finished, I realize that it kind of looks Christmas-y. Woops! I hope that's not the first thing she thinks of when she sees the card.
I used the Clearly Wordsworth Baby set for all of my stamped images. It is just the cutest! Go take a peek HERE!
I had to play some more with my new Nestabilities! I joined the Paper Pretties Nestabilities Club and am LOVING these dies! They give everything a much more classy, finished look. I love how you can emboss and cut!
This is the inside of my card. I wish the photo was a little clearer, but it's late and I have to work in the morning... so you'll have to use our imaginations. I'm having a hard time getting a nice photo in my dark craft room tonight.
*I used a black Copic Spica pen to add shimmer to the "baby" stamped image.
*Some of the sentiments in the Wordsworth set fit perfectly inside of SU's Word Window punch!
*I used my new photo corner punch just to give the inside of my card a little more design.
What a beautiful card...I love your patterned paper...it's perfect with this design. Great job!
ReplyDeleteI don't think it is Christmas-like at all. I think it is just the most cheerful baby card ever.
