One Down, 10K to Go....

Last night I cleaned my craft room after the boys went to bed and then thought to myself.... maybe I could just work on one little project before I go to bed. I have a ginormous list of things I 'want' to do and make before Christmas, so I thought I should probably get going on them soon! So... I just got absorbed into the project and finally decided I should get some sleep. OK. Can I just say that I NEED a clock in my craft room?!? It was 2:45 am when I went downstairs (and I had to be up at 6:30)! OUCH! So... if my post is a little fragmented.... please try to understand. I'm running on fumes!

I found a plain white school box at Hobby Lobby a couple of weeks ago and knew it would make an awesome altered item for my son's first grade teacher. I also found a great bargain at Michaels last week and picked up some PERFECT scrapbooking paper (only $0.25 a sheet!) And then... my order from Papertrey Ink arrived... and it all just fell into place! I have been saying that someone needed to make some monogram sets because they were so popular right now!

Here is the outside of my decoupaged school box. I used my Trajan Monogram letters to spell out his teacher's name on the front of the box. I lined the box with some thin chocolate grosgrain ribbon.

Here is a peek inside of the box. I used a 3x3 white envelope (added some printed paper to the top) to create a pocket for her to hold stamps.

I traced the lip of the envelopes onto printed paper to coordinate. I stamped a monogram on the front corner of the envelopes as well.

I used Stampin' Up!'s Blue Bayou textured card stock for the note cards. I cut an embossed an oval (using my Nestabilities) and stamped the monogram on the white card base that peeks through.

I had these tiny tins that worked perfectly to hold my envelope seals! I stamped the letter "M" repeatedly onto a large white label and cut each one out with my Coluzzle.
Underneath the tin is a small magnet (by Basic Grey). It holds the tin securely in place (it was so tiny that I didn't want it shifting around or getting lost!) I used my label maker to add some text under the seals.
I'll try to get the names of the supplies listed soon! I'm too tired to go back upstairs and look right at the moment! ;)
Supplies:
Paper: Daisy D's Classroom Collage, My Mind's Eye Bohemia Sun Kissed (brown/blue stripe)
Accessories: Maya Road Journey Tin (small round); Basic Grey Magnet

  6. Julie,
Great project. Looks like the late night hours paid off! I love the monogram seals idea, but the coordinating envelope flap was OTE (over the edge) on GOOD! Great idea! Love the paper choice. The teacher will be blessed for sure!
