It's Wednesday!.... and that means another Paper Pretties "Prettie Girl" challenge is on it's way! (ooh! Hope it's not my turn! I'd better go check!) A couple of weeks ago, Charmaine hit us with a BIG challenge --- to use the Bouncing Brayer technique.
Ok. Can I just tell you that this technique and I do NOT get along! I think I wasted 5 sheets of glossy paper trying to make something that resembled what I saw on the tutorial. SO... I just got frustrated and used my scalloped punch to "salvage" part of what I had inked up. Please note* This is NOT what the Bouncing Brayer technique is suppose to look like... so please look at the other girls' blogs to see what we were suppose to accomplish here! LOL! ~ Christie, Charmaine, Jillian, Joanne, Alli., Julie Masse, and Kristine~
So let me tell you about my little card! :)
I just got this yummy paper from Basic Grey (Mellow Collection) and chose my colors based off of this pattern. The little lamb stamp is one of several adorable animals in this clear set (a Day at the Zoo) from Rubber Soul. I love the sentiment too! It's great for making a card "just because"... and hopefully bringing a smile to the one who receives it!
Since the card was nice and simple, I wanted to "liven it up" a bit with some accessories! I used a piece of my Hodgepodge Hardware to frame the sentiment... but it needed a little something more. So I covered the inside of the Hodgepodge plate with Crystal effects and let it dry for awhile. I placed a piece of blue velvety ribbon to ground the sentiment and to give the card a little softness.

Cute card Julie! You did a great job "salvaging" it! :) Really great layout!
ReplyDelete*lol* sounds like we ALL loved this challenge. I am glad we did it (thanks Charmaine) and I am glad we are also willing to share that it takes time to "learn" something new. I think you did a good job and I like your sweet lil' image.
ReplyDeleteJulie, I just LOVED this card when I got it! I think it's adorable! :) I'm so bummed I didn't get THIS Rubber Soul set, but I different one. Darn!
ReplyDeleteI love this card! Fantastic job!
ReplyDeleteI'm having so much fun bouncing around looking at everyone's bouncing brayer cards. I'm such a ding-a-ling that I mailed mine away without a photo. I think I wanted no photographic evidence that it existed!
ReplyDeleteYour sheep came out cute though, nice save with the circle cutter, I did chop off a big section of mine too!
Ok, that's just too stinkin' cute.
ReplyDeleteEwe are very clever, it is so cute!
ReplyDeleteJulie, I JUST realized that it WAS this set that I ordered! I'm so excited! Can't wait for it to get here!
ReplyDeleteThat card and the saying are soooo cute!
