Happy WCMD!

Happy World Card Making Day (WCMD)!!!  Have you made a card today?  There are lots of fun challenges & promos going on right now at Studio Calico.

Here is a card I made for one of the challenges.
The challenge was to use 5 of something on one card (patterned papers, embellishments, stamps, etc.)  I used 5 different letterpress designs to create this one.

Want to be a guest designer for Studio Calico?

There's also a great promo going on for new subscribers.
I hope you join in the fun!

Happy World Card Making Day!!!

Happy World Card Making Day!  World Card Making Day is a holiday especially for card makers around the world to kick off the holiday card-making season.

I'm guest blogging today for Creating Keepsakes on how to stretch your supplies (especially during the holidays.)  I'd love for you to check it out!  There just *might* be a fun giveaway to help you get started on your own holiday projects.

Here are a couple of holiday cards I made where I've stretched my supplies.  Neither of these card actually uses any Christmas/holiday product, but you'd never guess just by looking!  I have lots of tips on the CK blog to help you do the same.

World Card Making Day Challenge! Going Postal

Happy World Card Making Day!  The girls at Unity are celebrating in a BIG way & we'd love to have you join us!  There are lots of fun challenges going on & TONS of prizes to be had!  Make sure to check it all out on Unity's Facebook page & the Unity Splitcoast forums.  You could even win the Kit of the Month FREE for an ENTIRE YEAR!  Wow!  :)

***My challenge for you is called Going Postal.***

Make a card AND a coordinating envelope to go with it.  I don't know about you, but I seem to make a lot of cards & forget to get them in the mail where they belong.  So... I'm hoping that if I create a cute little envelope for my cards, I'm just one step closer to mailing them out.  :)

I used some of my favorite school stamps from Unity, along with Cosmo Cricket's School Spirit collection to make my card/envie combo.

Since my card is actually going to be hand-delivered, I decided to try something a little different with my envelope.  I slipped my card into a flat glassine bag & tied it closed with baker's twine.

I would LOVE to have you participate in my challenge!  Participants are posting their cards on Unity's Facebook page as well as in the Splitcoast Gallery.  You have until October 16th to upload your cards.  Winners will be announced on the 21st during Hip Hop!

When you upload, please use the keyword: USCWCMD23

There will be stamps given away to the winners of EACH challenge.  You CAN combine challenges, however -- in order to win the GRAND PRIZE (Kit of the Month for 1 year), you must complete EACH INDIVIDUAL challenge!  I can't wait to see what you create!  :)
