New Stamp of the Month

I can't believe it's already NOVEMBER! Yikes! I must be getting old! Time is going by way too fast! So... since it's November, I want to tell you about Cornish Heritage Farms new Stamp of the Month - called Ornaments of Joy. This is a new image designed by Aimee Nugent and is sooo pretty! And, throughout the month, this stamp sells for $3.49 (unmounted) & $5.99 mounted. Talk about a bargain!!!! Seriously!

I have a few samples so far that I wanted to show you. The first one uses the SOTM image stamped with a glue pad and glittered to match this yummy paper by Making Memories. The stamped panel is on vellum & is sandwiched between the cardstock layers to create a window (even though you can't tell from the pic.)

SUPPLIES:
Stamp:
- November SOTM (Ornaments of Joy) by Cornish Heritage Farms
Ink:
- Essential Glue pad by Tsukineko
Cardtock:
- Black Prism CS
Printed Paper: - Red Glittered Poinsettia: FaLaLa by Making Memories
Accessories: - Black organdy ribbon (Michaels) - Wassail brad by Basic Grey - Nestabilities square dies - Fire Truck Red Art Glitter

For my second project, I glittered the SOTM image using some of the salvaged glitter that my son enjoys getting into. (For those of you who haven't heard my stories of torment... my 3 yr. old loves to be "crafty". On this occasion, I had just opened a box of beautiful assorted ultra fine glitter and came back to find all of them dumped onto the carpet. My son said he was cooking. Errr!) I think this is a mixture of red, pink, and blue... but it's hard to tell. Smile It actually coordinates really well with my paper! LOL!

SUPPLIES:
Stamp:
- November SOTM (Ornaments of Joy) by Cornish Heritage Farms
Ink:
- Essential Glue Pad by Tsukineko
Paper: - Snowy Jo line by Imaginisce
Accessories:- Art Glitter (assortment) - Twine rope by SU! - small chipboard box - felt

I love making holiday cards with non-traditional colors! Smile I just discovered this new paper by Crate Paper and didn't want to only use it for fall! (This sketch is from Jen del Muro's SFYTT this week.) I had a small chipboard ornament that I coated in about 6 layers of chocolate scented embossing powder. (Yum!) To make it look more like the ornament in the stamp, I added a rub-on swirl right on top of the chocolate... I mean embossing powder. Smile

The Longest Post Evah!

So... I've got a TON of things to share with you... and I was going to just try to spread the wealth over the next several days --- but I know I have a lot more to share later, so why not just drop it all on you at once? :)

I'm a little late to the party (man! I wish I didn't have to have a 'real' job too!) but I wanted to show you some of the stamp sets that were released this week in their entirety.

Kim Hughes just went CRAZY this week and released some of the cutest sets you'll ever see! This set is called Little Guy (only $14.99 BTW!).

And.... here are some of the cards I've made using this set. I have soooo many more ideas for this set! I just need some time! Anyone have extra they could spare?

And here is the 'girl' set called Little Gal: (also only $14.99!!!)

There were lots of pirate images released this week! This one is called Shiver me Timbers: (and... you guessed it! It's also $14.99!) :)

You do NOT want to miss this month's Stamp of the Month!!! Kim Hughes put together this set called Ahoy Matey! This set is on special through October for $7.99!!! Craziness!!! :)

Have you seen the latest product in the crafting world? I have a review on Craft Critique on Flower Soft. I'd love to have you check it out and give me any feedback! Here are some cards made with this fun new embellishment:

(The card above was made by adding Flower Soft to the floral images in the Silhouette Blooms set by CHF.)
I think this card is just a lot of fun! I used Flower Soft to add 'fur' to my moose. The flower image is one of the new stamps in the Little Gal set. I added one of the flowers to the moose's mouth because he looked hungry. :)

Shoo! I don't know about you, but I'm exhausted! Saturday is World Card Making Day and I think I might have a nice motherload of blog candy popping up soon! I hope you join me then! :)

Ahoy Matey!

I think Kim Hughes' October Stamp of the Month set is soooo cute! I love this pirate parrot and think he's perfect for sending a quick hello! (This AWESOME set is going to be released on Wednesday and will be on special for the month of October.) :)

The corner of this card was screaming for an accessory... and I found this part to a key chain in my craft room. So... with a few strokes of my Krylon pen, I had a perfect piratey earring!

Kissable Tree

I can't believe the month is already halfway over and I haven't told you about August's Stamp of the Month at CHF!!! For those of you who don't know, each month an image (or sometimes a small set) is released at a discounted price. You can still purchase these images after the month is over... but it's going to be a little more expensive. :) You can click HERE to be directed to the store.

August's SOTM is one of my fav's! (probably b/c it's designed by Kim Hughes... and I am the President of her fan club) ;) I just think it has so many possibilities! Here are a couple of ways that I've used it so far:

I saw one of Kim's Emboss Resist projects and wanted to try one of my own. The Kissable Tree image was stamped onto Core'dination cardstock using Versamark & embossed with clear EP (embossing powder). Then, I used a brayer and inked up the entire piece. Finally, I wiped the ink off of the tree with a dry cloth. Voila!

Stamps: (all by Cornish Heritage Farms)
- Kissable Tree (August SOTM 2008)
- Pretty Birds (the Kim Hughes Collection)
- Friend Centers (Mona Lisa Moments)

Ink:
- Charcoal fluid chalk ink by ColorBox
- Pitch Black Adirondack inkpad by Ranger
- Versamark inkpad by Tsukineko
- Cotton White StazOn

Paper:
- Suede Brown Dark, Kraft CS by Prism
- Core'dination CS

Accessories:
- Copper Hardware by We R Memory Keepers
- Waxy Flax by ScrapWorks
- Archaic Rub-ons by Basic Grey
- Copic Markers
- Clear Card Sheet by Cornish Heritage Farms
- White Gel Pen by Ranger
Or... try the "kissing" techinque! Just ink the tree up along with a Backgrounder and "kiss" them by pressing them together! Now... stamp the tree and check out the cool pattern you've created! It makes such a cool image!

Stamps: (all by Cornish Heritage Farms)
- Kissable Tree
- Houndstooth Backgrounder
- (cardinal) Christmas Critters (the Kim Hughes Line)
- (thanks) Silhouette Blooms II (the Kim Hughes Line)

Ink:
- Warm Red & Yellow Citrus ColorBox fluid chalk ink
- Frayed Burlap Distress Ink by Ranger
- Black Onyx Versafine Inkpad by Tsukineko

Cardstock:
- Smooth Natural & Suede Brown Dark CS by Prism

Printed Paper:
- Mr Campy: Flannel by Cosmo Cricket (used both sides)

Accessories:
- Coppered Out Precious Metal Hardware by We R Memory Keepers
- Mustard grosgrain ribbon
- Twill by Martha Stewart
- (stars) Holiday Ornaments Chipboard by Basic Grey
- Foof-a-la buttons
- Waxy flax by Scrapworks
