My baby sister is getting married this May! Thirteen years ago, she was my Maid of Honor as a twelve year old... and now I'll be hers. She's always been so special to me. You can read more about our story & her miraculous beginnings here.
So... the past several months, I've been in wedding mode. This past weekend, I just finished making her wedding invites. She's inviting over 300 people. Can I tell you how much I love mass-producing cards? Gag! ;) I seriously have a hard time making two of the same card... so this was a labor of love.
I also just finished her bridal shower invites & thought I'd share.
My sister's one request was that her bridal shower would have bits of hot pink. I'm not the most tech-savvy person, so I decided to start with a digi kit & go from there. I found a whole collection of awesome fonts, images & borders at Two Peas called Pea Soup February. I loved the modern feel & the colors were spot on!
There are 23 different coordinating digi kits from this collection & I've downloaded several others to use in my Project Life album.

I combined the kit font with one of my favorite fonts - Verner - and then created the arrow out of a ding bat font that I also had on hand. I created a file for the pink arrow that you can download.
I love how the font has subtle polka-dots & arrows throughout.
Here is the inside of the invitation. I made the "details" strip using some of the same Pea Soup kit & added a text box on top of it.
The envelopes had to be cute-ified, of course! I stamped these little bathroom people from Studio Calico's new Hey Y'all set & added a heart from Lawn Fawn.
I added a bit of washi tape to the back. It looks cute & is functional at the same time.
Thanks for taking a peek! Here are a few links in case you'd like to try something like this yourself:
What a great idea for a card. I had been thinking earlier today that I would love a stamp or some paper that had books on, & you've straight away shown me one! Thank you.
ReplyDeletesooooo fun! caught your post on the Paper Crafts Connection blog and was wondering where you picked up those strawberry crates? Super CUTE idea!!!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! :> You knocked it out of the park with this shower! :> I went and read about how your family has been blessed by your sister and even told my hubby about it! Told him we better not tell our children! LOL Actually my pastor had 4 daughters and took care that he wouldn't have any more, but 4 little girls praying for a brother brings baby brother! :>
ReplyDeleteLove how modern this ensemble is. And that arrow! So trendy! I've also been loving your updates from Utah. Big hugs to everyone there!
ReplyDeleteHi Julie!
ReplyDeleteYou are so so talented!
I wanted to ask if the free download you mentioned on this page is still availible?
Thanks!
Vanessa
Wow! This invitation is amazing!!! Do you still have the file for this invite? It would be perfect for my Hunger Games themed shower with the arrow design :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!! Vanessa
