A Fun New Adventure

Good morning everyone!!! I'm super excited that it's Monday! (crazy, huh?) BUT... I finally get to tell you that I was asked to be a Guest Designer for Whipper Snapper for a couple of months!!!! I've always loved Anna Wight's designs! They're so cute & have a little bit of humor tucked in here and there... so they always make me smile!

Today is a release day for two new Summery sets that you're going to LOVE! This set is called "Swimmin' By" (feel free to click on the image to enlarge it). It's perfect for those Summer birthdays too (note to self: BOTH of my boys' birthdays are in the Summer. Hmmm...)

I just HAD to use this little submarine image. And... it just 'needed' to be yellow, don't you think? :) I stamped the waves from the set below and carefully cut away the excess. The sentiment & submarine windows are covered in Glossy Accents. (you'll have to trust me on this one). Papers are from Cosmo Cricket & Colorbok. The fun gingham ribbon is from Sharon Johnson.
And... the second set is called "Beach Bum".

Is this sentiment awesome of what?!? LOL! I LOVE it! That's definitely me on the beach. I stamped the waves again in the background, added a little sand castle & a few seagulls. The papers are from Pink Paislee.

Check out this little guy! Can't you just feel the pain of that sunburn? Ouch! LOL! His floaty is covered in Glossy Accents... and this time my camera actually picked it up. What do you know? :)

I have a lot more Whipper Snapper goodness to show you over the next couple of months, but in the meantime, make sure you check out what the other designers have in store for you. I've peeked & they're SO wonderful!!!!

Unity KOM Blog Hop!!!

Hello everybody!!! Today is Unity's AMAZING KOM (Kit of the Month) Blog Hop... and if you started at the beginning, you've made it ALL THE WAY to the end!!! (and you deserve an award... & maybe some chocolate!) ;) I'm your last stop on the grand tour, and I'm SO excited to have you here!

So... just a couple of quick things!

  1. You can view the Unity KOM Blog Hop by starting at the Unity Blog.
  2. If you get lost along the way, just click HERE to go to the Unity Splitcoaststampers forum.
OK! So here are a couple of cards I made using 2 of my FAVORITE Unity KOMs!

The sentiment from this set is from the September KOM. I framed a piece of an old dictionary page to use as my focal point.

And here is a card I made using one of my favorite images of all time --- the famous Unity camper! This image & sentiment can be found in the August KOM. I stamped the camper onto an old map that I had & paper pieced it to give it a retro 1970's feel. The "ribbon" is a piece of dictionary paper that I gathered & sewed in place.

I hope you've enjoyed your KOM Hop! Thanks for making it to the end!!! :)

I LOVE This Sketch!!!

I think I've found a new favorite sketch! I kind of went overboard with it... and probably won't stop with just these. :) Here is this week's 'Sketch For You To Try' by Jen del Muro:

OK! First up... here's a card I made using Unity's Floral Fantastical set along with a sentiment by Kim Hughes. The papers are from a K&Company pack that I've had for awhile. My ivory & green ribbon is from Sharon's shop.

And here is the same sentiment paired with Chatterbox's 'Fabulous' paper:

This is the one I used for my Mom's Mother's Day card (my parents raise chickens... so I thought it looked kind of like them). :) This paper is from the Cherry Hill line by October Afternoon. Oh! And this gorgeous silk ribbon is also from Sharon Johnson's ribbon store. It's yummy!

And, finally... this is a card I made using Crate Paper's Lillian collection, along with another Kim Hughes sentiment.

Check out my button! I just used one of the rub-ons from the kit to make my own custom embellishment. :)

See! Isn't this sketch awesome? It's perfect for pairing up all of your favorite papers! Thanks for visiting!!!

Wild Sprouts

After 2-3 weeks of being sick as a dog... I'm finally feeling well. It's a wonderful feeling!!! And... even though I had to get up at 5 am & work all day, I still am almost giddy because I can move & breathe & eat... and stay awake for more than a couple of hours. I know I take my normally healthy state for granted most of the time. Being sickly is a great reminder to count your blessings. :)

And so... I finally felt like being crafty again. (A lot of my previous posts were done pre-sickness and I just posted them later.) I inked up this cute little sweetie pie named 'Dahlia' from The Greeting Farm's Wild Sprout line and made a couple of cards with the same supplies.

This first card is for the Weekend Sketch Challenge by Cambria. I used patterned paper from Crate Paper's Lillian Collection along with some 'Fabulous Glossy Vintage' paper by Chatterbox. And yes. It really is fabulous! I wish you could see it in real life. Mmmmm!!! :)

And... here's the same sweet Dahlia using a sketch for Mojo Monday by Julee Tilman. I used more of the Lillian Collection & another print from the Fabulous line... and distressed it all to give it a more 'country' look. I also added a few Kaiser pearls here and there (LOVE these things!).

Well... it's almost 11 pm & it's been a long day! I think I'm going to call it a night. Thanks for coming to visit my blog! I really appreciate you guys!!!

For Your Little Night Owl

This is a card I made using the Night Owl set by My Cute Stamps. This CUTE set is jammed packed with 20 adorable images (and it's only $12.99!). I promise... I'm not making any commission off of these stamps. I just had to tell you the price because I think it's a steal! :)

The card was actually pretty simple to make. (1 stamp set, kraft paper from PTI, green textured CS from American Crafts, markers, ribbon & stitching) I mostly paper pieced everything so that it would stand out from the background. The wood grain paper is from Basic Grey (Eva - "Lavish"). I gathered a strip of white eyelet lace and adhered it between my card layers for a feminine touch.

Isn't this little owl the cutest?!? I remember those days when my babies wanted to stay awake all night & sleep during the day (only imagine it all blue instead of pink). I have to say, it's nice to sleep at night. :) Although, we've had some pretty long nights lately. Both of my boys had respiratory infections & then gave it to me. And then... my youngest got a stomach virus... and passed it on to me. I haven't been well in over 2 weeks... and it's getting pretty old. I'm praying my stomach will settle down before I have to go back to work tomorrow. Ugggg!!!

Go With All Your Heart

I've always loved this sentiment! It's part of Unity's newest set, Everyday Adorable. This vintage trike is also part of this set. I airbrushed my CS to give it even more of a vintage flair. The parts that look black are actually dark denim fabric. It's just hard to get the texture to pick up on camera.
And... this sweet little image is from Unity's new set, Little Me. I don't have very many images that are good for masculine cards... so I fell head over heels for this one! I love this crossword puzzle paper by Sassafras! I went with the 'game' theme and added a vintage Bingo Tile as an accessory. I used my denim fabric again in place of ribbon & just tore a strip to give it some more texture.

Thanks for visiting! I hope you have an awesome week!

Rain, Snow, & Shine

Wow! I can't believe it's May already! I have all of the windows open... there's a cool breeze flowing through... and the birds are chirping! I love this time of year! I also love May because I am The Greeting Farm's Guest Designer for the month! Yippee! I've always loved these images, and I can't wait to get them all inky!

Today, I want to show you a new set that's going to have you falling head over heels in LOVE! As soon as I saw the new Anya set Rain, Snow, & Shine... my heart started pounding! These images are SO cute! The release date is set for May 15th, so mark your calendars!!! :)

First up, here's 'Rain':

I made her yellow rain slicker nice and slick with a coat of Ranger's Glossy Accents. The yellow screen print is by Hambly, and the sentiment is by Melissa Frances. (love that quote!) I found these raindrops in my Honey Pie Blackboard set by Cosmo Cricket & added a little glitter.

And... here is Miss Anya all dressed up for winter. I normally don't like making out of season cards when it's all bright and sunny outside, but this Anya is so cute, I didn't mind a bit! :) I added Liquid Applique to her fuzzy accessories.

And... do you see this gorgeous paper underneath? All of the patterned paper used on this card is from The Greeting Farm's NEW paper pack! The designs are just perfect, and I know they're going to be a big hit. They hit the shelves today.... and you can get them in 6x6 packs or the traditional12x12.

I used a bit of brown gingham from Sharon's Ribbon Shop and frayed the edges to make it look like a scarf (or at least that's the look I was going for). :) The sentiment is part of The Greeting Farm's Sentiment set. This set is PACKED full of everyday sentiments -- which are my favorite!

And finally, here is Anya all decked out for Summer! We go to Florida every year and this is making me want to hit the beach so badly! I added a little Glossy Accents to her sunglasses... and her suit is all sparkly in real life. The sentiment is another rub-on by Melissa Frances, & this paper is by Sassafras. It just screams Summer to me!

I hope you've enjoyed your sneak peek at these CUTE new Anya stamps! I'll be back throughout the month with a lot more!
