Je T'aime

Hey everyone! I've been dying to get in my craft room and just CREATE. No agenda, no deadlines.... just for the pure joy of it. I've needed it in a baaaad way. :) I'm just not 'me' without being able to create 'in the pure'. So... I've been wanting to make some more cards to send to Winter's Cards for St. Jude card drive & came across some free printable Valentine images from the Black Apple. I LOVE any artwork from Miss Black Apple (I'm not sure what her real name is) and bookmarked these cutesies for just the perfect project!

If you'd like to find out how YOU can send cards for the kids at St. Jude's, just click on the picture above.

For my first card, I wanted to make something based off of this week's CPS sketch. It's a great basic design that makes for a quick and easy card. Love that!

CPS Sketch #150

These are so easy! Just print the colored image and most of the work is done for you! :) I love how the little girls all have different styles and ethnicities. I know sometimes I get in a rut and only make images that look like 'me'. The sentiment is from one of my favorite Papertrey Ink sentiment sets - Vintage Picnic Sentiments. The little mug reads, "je t'aime" (or, "I Love You" in French).

So... here's another one made from the same basic layout. I love the color combo 'Miss Apple' used. It's kind of a pukey-mustardy yellow mixed with soft lavender, bright red, and deep green. Who would've thought these colors could mingle??? I think it's funky and fun! :)

And... here's blondie. See how versatile this sketch is? I just moved the main image over a bit & it looks like a whole new design! Fun colors again --- pale lavender, red, baby blue, and olive. Me likey.

I used a Cuttlebug Herringbone folder to give the olive panel a bit of texture.

Thanks for coming and checking out my Valentines! Hope your day is filled with unadulterated, pure creativity. :) It's a good thing.
