Hey everyone! I don't even want to tell you how long it took me to finish this card. (And don't tell my hubby!) I wanted to participate in the SCS 'Ways to Use It' challenge today... which was to incorporate textiles in your paper crafting projects.
I found this CUTE Cricut cartridge called Paisley, which contains several Matryoshka doll images. I heard that you can cut fabric using the Cricut machine & I thought I'd make a fabric nesting doll... lickity split! Well... it took some trial and error... but I finally got a result I was happy with. The biggest problem was that the face from the cut-out was kind of weird to me. I wanted to make my own custom face.... and I am no artist. So... in the end, I ended up stamping eyes and a mouth for my little doll using Hero Art's stamp set. You'd think I could draw some eyes and a mouth... but no. They kept looking freaky & I didn't want to scare small children with my spooky nesting doll.
The polka dots are a stamp from Unity's January KOM. I LOVE Love LOVE these little dots! :) And... the cute sentiment is from Unity's soon-to-be-released 'Could I Be Any Cuter' set.
Make sure to check out the Unity blog today to read about all of the sales and specials going on. And... click on the links on my sidebar to see what the other Unity designers have for you today! :)
Have a good one!!!
