Hey everybody! Well... the good news is, I'm HOME! I don't know if you heard, but I became terribly sick when I hit California. I just couldn't believe it! I never get sick. But... I was hit hard by the flu bug (felt more like a semi). I tried my best for a couple of days to show up for events, but I guess I pushed it too far. I ended up flat on my back with a really high fever and chills... and felt like I could literally die at any moment.
So... when the doors opened for CHA on Sunday, I had to stay behind. :( I did (thankfully) get a little energy on Monday and walked the floor for just a bit. I even "worked" the CHF booth for a shift (I really wouldn't call what I did "work"... but thankfully Alli covered my bases for me.) I just really wanted to see what this event was all about.
I flew in last night really late and spent the night with family and then made the drive back home this morning. My boys are at school/daycare, so I can't wait to see them! I'm still feeling pretty terrible, so I'm a little nervous that they'll walk in and expect me to have a lot of energy to play. Hopefully my husband will help me out. :)
Anyway, I just wanted to let everyone know what was going on. I have no desire/energy to stamp (see! I AM really sick), so there might not be anything for a bit. I started feeling like I was getting better, but the flight home just knocked me down again. Being really ill just puts things in perspective really fast. Say a prayer for me that I'll get healthy soon!

I'm sorry to hear you had the flu! As a reminder to your readers, vaccination is the single best way to protect yourself and people you love from influenza. If you come down with the flu, there are still things you can do such as taking antiviral drugs if your doctor says you need them. To protect others from the flu, take preventive actions including frequent hand washing and covering coughs and sneezes. For more information from CDC on influenza and how to protect against it or keep from spreading it, visit CDC's www.myFluNews.com
