I am SO happy that I'm finally able to post again. This past week has been crazy busy. I guess it all started on Saturday. My little sister came over and was bored.... so we decided to re-do the boys' bedroom. I was imagining a two day project.... and then having Labor Day to stamp, rest, etc. Yeah, well.... that didn't happen. I don't know why I do this to myself! Projects always take longer than expected. But, now I'm so glad we did it -- and that it's over. (Well... mostly over. It still needs some finishing touches.)
Ok. So I'm sad to say this was actually the room that my boys had been sleeping in. Yuck! This is only part of the miles and miles of Grandma-Green and Pink floral wallpaper. Yeah. They even papered the ceiling. This pic was taken right after I started peeling off some of the edges.
Here's the same room with all of the paper off. This took me two whole days to complete just this part of the project.
Here is the same wall painted Stampin' Up!'s Old Olive. We put the bunk bed up late Monday (I think we finally finished at 11:30 pm)
Here is where Emery is going to sleep. We call it the 'Window Bed'. I'm going to put up some fun 'curtains' so they can have a little hide away fort.
This is the face that makes it all worth it! We woke Eli up late Monday night after everything was finished. I'm not sure how much sleep he got that night. Now I've got to figure out how to keep the little one from climbing to the top and breaking his neck. What a relief to get this out of the way! So... since I worked on the room for 3 days (and went to my real job on Tues.), the rest of my house was a disaster. I spent the entire day today just getting things back in order. I HOPE HOPE HOPE to get to stamp on Friday. I promise to be back to my regular posting soon!
Julie it looks so great!! Love the color and I love that window bed!! What a relief huh? My girls sleep in bunkbeds - they love it and have never fallen! :)

ReplyDeletelove the new look. especially love the window bed and a private fort sounds like so much fun.
ReplyDeletehave to admit hubby and i had that same wallpaper in our first house back in 1983. didn't live in the house long enough to replace it with something else but sure wanted to.
What a fun room! I love the color and the beds!
ReplyDeleteI love how the room turned out. I am sure the boys love it so much especally the window bed.
ReplyDeleteLooks great! My son would just love that widow bed/fort! Super job.
ReplyDeleteIt looks amazing!! I love the color!
ReplyDeleteYou did a beautiful job with the room. Some things are just a bit more important than stamping *wink*.
ReplyDeleteWhat a little cutie!!
Wonderful. Your boys are sure to enjoy that room now. Great job!!
ReplyDeleteGreat job!!! I can't stand painting but even worse, removing wallpaper?!?! You are a trooper and that smile on his face does make it all worth it. Bravo Julie!!!
ReplyDeleteJulie, the room looks fabulous. When I first saw the wallpaper, I thought, no way you would put that in for the boys. Then I read further down. I love the olive green. My son grew up with a bunk bed and he always had to sleep on the top. Seeing this is making me want to work on my house now.
ReplyDeleteI would love to have a window bed area for my kiddos. You really did a great job and I am sure they will love. P.S love the photo or your little boy. Cute!!
ReplyDeleteJulie! I love the new look! We just put up a twin size bed for Drew this past weekend. We had to go and buy new sheets, and guess what?! Drew has the same striped sheets that Eli and Emery have! How fun! So, my question would be-how did you get just the right shade to match Stampin' Up's Old olive? Did you take in a sample? That is a great idea.
ReplyDeleteGood job!! I admire your ability to keep working all weekend. I probably would've quit.....
WOW! When I saw that wall paper I was feeling for you. The last time I took wall paper down it came off in little two inch pieces. The room looks great!!! I love that window bed!
