I don't know if this paper line is new... or just new to me, but I've fallen head over heels for the Spring Fling collection by Pink Paislee!

This first card is based on a sketch for Taylor's Cupcake Challenge HERE. I LOVE this red print with the birds! It looks so much like Kim Hughes' bird stamps! How fun!

Recipe: Cheesy Garlic Drop Biscuits by Alisa Bangerter

This is a perfect recipe to pull out if you are short on time because there is no rolling or cutting. The cheese and garlic add extra kick to a plain biscuit, and kids love them. They are the perfect accompaniment to serve with soups or stews, and are great served with a salad.

INGREDIENTS
2 c. flour
2 tbsp. granulated sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. butter or margarine
1 1/2 c. grated cheddar cheese
1 1/4 c. milk
Chives (optional)

DIRECTIONS
Mix together dry ingredients. Cut in butter with pastry cutter until mixture is fine. Add cheese and mix well. Add milk and stir until just moistened. Drop by spoonfuls onto greased baking sheet. Sprinkle top with chopped dried or fresh chives if desired. Bake at 400 degrees for approx. 15 minutes.

Faux Snow Snowflake

Happy Monday! (I'm trying to perk myself up.) :) I'm actually writing this late Sunday night and scheduling this post for the morning... so the thought of heading back to work is not too thrilling! :) But.... one thing I DO love about Mondays is our weekly CHF Chick's Challenge! This week, we're getting to play with Faux Snow by The Art Institute!

If you've never used this product, make sure to take a look at all of the designer's projects to find out more about it. Faux Snow is the new Product Spotlight for this week at CHF - so I hope you try some out for yourself! :)

I really like how this card turned out. It was soooo simple - and I finally got to break in some of my crackle paint. I love how Ranger makes so many products in coordinating colors! (I used the Broken China Distress inkpad to stamp my Writing Paper background to match my snowflake.)
I painted my snowflake with Broken China crackle paint and added the 'snow' to the top while it was still wet. It acts like glue and holds it in place nicely when it's dry. Smile I also added a rub-on to the button to give it a little punch.

And... here's a close-up of my snowflake. I wanted you to see how light and chunky this Faux Snow is. I think it looks like a decorated sugar cookie! Yum! :)

Beacon of Hope

Today I wanted to show you a new stamp set called Beacon of Hope. This is the first of many sets to come in Cornish Heritage Farms' new Scene It Collection. Basically -- it's jammed packed full of images that can work together to create a scene. I really love these images... and REALLY love the sentiments included too! Here's where you can find the set.

As I've mentioned before, I make cards for all of our new visitors at church to welcome them. My eyes just about popped out when I saw the "journey" sentiment in this set! (Our church is called the Journey) Here are a couple of gift card holders/cards that I made:

The Copic Airbrush system is soooo handy! I just zipped through these cards! Easy Peasy!

And here's the inside of my gift card holder (below). I've seen these all over the place lately, and I'm not sure who to give credit to! Basically, it's just a 'w' fold. I sewed 3 of the edges and cut a slit for the gift card to slide into.

I really loved this quote in the set (below)! I though it would be fun to pair it up with this cute image from Unity (So & So Loves...). I used my Wood grain backgrounder on Kraft cardstock & then sponged with Distress Ink. Doesn't it look so real? I just got that backgrounder in my last order & am falling IN LOVE with it! :)

I'm So Prepared!

Today marks the release of another stamp set at CHF called Invitation Essentials! This set has everything you need to craft a special occasion - and the best part is... it's only $9.99! Wowza! Want to see? :)

So... when I was preparing for this release, I thought 'Why not get my next anniversary card out of the way now?'. Our 10th will be next May... so I'm pretty impressed with myself! I'm usually a bad procrastinator. :)

This card couldn't have been more simple! I combined the word "happy" from Kim's Birthday Bash set with sentiments from Mona's Invitation Essentials to create a whimsical sentiment - made with multiple fonts - to go with this super fun paper by Fancy Pants.

Stamps: (all by CHF)
- Invitation Essentials (MLM Collection)
- Birthday Bash (Kim Hughes Collection)

Ink:
- Rhubarb Memento ink
- Pitch Black Adirondack inkpad by Ranger

- The Daily Grind by Fancy Pants

- Warm Gray #1 Copic marker (to shadow sentiment)

Merry Kissmoose

Today was release day for the most recent Friendly Kritters image at CHF - called Frosty Friends. I just love that snowman's sweet face!!!
Here was a bright and cheery card I made using the Daily Grind paper collection by Fancy Pants. I stamped the image once onto the blue dotted paper and then a second time onto white cardstock. I trimmed out just the portions that I wanted and adhered the images on top of each other. This makes it easy to work with those little details like stick arms and antlers. There's just no way to trim those little details!

I love this sentiment found in Kim Hughes' Christmas Critters set. I think it works perfectly with this image! :)
SUPPLIES:
Stamps: (all by Cornish Heritage Farms)

You'd Better SHAPE Up!

Happy Monday! Today, the CHF Chicks have a super fun challenge for everyone! -- Make a "shaped card". Basically - make something other thank your standard square or rectangle card. I've seen these diaper-fold baby invitations over the years in stores and knew it couldn't be too difficult to design one on my own. To save time, I did a search on the internet and found a template by Martha Stewart Crafts HERE. (Which is great for you too, in case you want to try this out yourself.) :)

The "diaper" was made by tracing my template onto Kim Hughes' MochaChica patterned paper. I'm super excited about a new stamp set that's coming this Thursday from the Mona Lisa Moments Collection by CHF! It's called
Invitation Essentials --- and it's just that. Essential stamps to create elegant shower/birthday/anniversary, etc. invitations! I used this set to create my tag & for the inside segment of my card.

And here is the inside of my invitation: (I stamped onto light flesh-colored card stock and then sponged the edges a bit.)

I've had a chance to peek at a few of the other CHF girls' projects today -- and they are all SO creative! Make sure to check them out by clicking on their blog links on the sidebar to the left.

Plus... there are random prizes each month given out for those that upload to the CHF Gallery! :) Here are this weeks colors:

I just LOVE it when I have a great sketch to work from. I needed a birthday card in a hurry and knew Taylor would have some inspiration on her blog. :) Here is this week's Cupcake Challenge sketch:

And here is my card! As you can see... I flipped the sketch on it's side to work with my skateboarding monster image. :) And... if you look really close, you can see my stamped pizza image in my background. (Perfect for a Chuck-E-Cheese party, don't you think?) :)

I just wanted to show you a close up of the dimension on this card. I love these crazy googlie eyes on this monster and I wanted to really emphasize them.

Frosty Friends

Before I get to my "Frosty Friends" post... I wanted to let you know that there are 6 individual flower silhouette stamps that were released today from the Kim Hughes line by CHF. These stamps are available mounted or unmounted and are similar images to others in the KH line (just resized). So... if you are a brick & mortar store and your customers ONLY want woodmounted images OR if you like several of Kim's floral sets but can't afford to buy them all at once --- this might be a great option for you! This is where you can see them along with some beautiful design team samples: CHF Gallery - Flower and Plant Individual Images. They are available for purchase here: Kim Hughes Collection. :)

OK. Now back to today's project! Have you guys seen Lauren Meader's newest venture? She has designed some really awesome templates that you can purchase from Papertrey Ink (My Timeless Templates) and then print directly onto card stock. I made this chipboard ornament and wanted to gift it in a unique way. The image is from a soon-to-be-released Friendly Kritters image called Frosty Friends (available October 21st at CHF).

This is my modified version of Lauren's template (FOR KEEP{sake}). My ornament was too wide to view it completely with the original front window, so I cut a wider window and inserted a Clear Card Sheet inside. I lined the inside of my box with wood-grain patterned paper by Cosmo Cricket.

This is the back of my ornament. The sentiment will be released along with the Frosty Friends image next Tuesday. I bent the stamp and placed it on my acrylic block to create a curved 'sentiment band'.
Here's a close-up of this sweet Friendly Kritters image, colored with Copic markers. I covered the front with Glossy Accents and then used a copper Krylon pen to color the top and edges of the ornament.

To hang my ornament, I added ribbon and a button to the top and placed it through a slit I made in the top of my box.
