Little Gal

Thursday marks the release of two SUPER cute sets by Kim Hughes for Cornish Heritage Farms!!! I've got some sneaks from one of her sets - Little Gal - and I think you're going to fall head-over-heels in luhve with it! If you've got a house full of boys (like I do!).... don't worry! The second set is just as cute and is packed with awesome and really unique images for the little guy in your life.

So... ready for the goods? This is one of my favorite images from the Little Gal set. I don't think I've EVER seen such a cute ice cream cone!!! :) AND... the Open Plaid Backgrounder stamp looks like it was made for this cone, don't you think? :)

Here's a close-up of this super sweet image:

The little long-legged bird in the card below is another image from the Little Gal set. This card was made following Julee Tilman's Mojo Monday sketch from this week.

Don't you just LOVE Kim Hughes' fonts? One thing that I like to do is combine sentiments from different sets to create a sentiment that I need. Since the font is all by the same artist, it all flows really well together. Don't have a word that you need? --- Spell it out using Kim's Quirky Alphabet set! (the word "mother" below was made with that alphabet)

The little teacup below is another image found in this set. ADORABLE!!! :)

I hope you've enjoyed seeing a few 'sneaks' of this soon-to-be-released set! Stay tuned for some projects made with the guy set soon! :)

Ahoy Matey!

I think Kim Hughes' October Stamp of the Month set is soooo cute! I love this pirate parrot and think he's perfect for sending a quick hello! (This AWESOME set is going to be released on Wednesday and will be on special for the month of October.) :)

The corner of this card was screaming for an accessory... and I found this part to a key chain in my craft room. So... with a few strokes of my Krylon pen, I had a perfect piratey earring!

And here is a close-up of the image. I stamped directly onto this patterned paper and then added color with Copics. I used Stickles again for the snowy branches... and added sparkly pine needles with my Copic Spica pen.

Cuddling Cardinals

Tomorrow is the release day for the next Friendly Kritters stamps at CHF! I really love this sweet image and it's really easy to color. Seriously! :) There is so much shading from the stamped image -- you can just zip over it with your markers (or whatever means of coloring you prefer).
I was really pumped when I found this little piece of hardware that seems as if it were MADE for this patterned paper! Don't ya think? :) The sentiment is also part of this stamp release. I think I'll be using it a lot!

Here's a close-up of the birds all nice and sparkley. :) Just add some Stickles to make perfectly snow-colored branches! I used a Copic Spica pen to add color to the pine needles. They're so fine that you need a delicate pen to add color just where it's needed.

This is another one of my 'Welcome to our Church' cards that I make for new visitors. I really love how the image looks when it was stamped onto this linen-like paper in the new Scrapblocks Layers paper pack. The paper is actually super smooth, which makes the impression nice and clear. AND... the image looks great without having to spend 2 hours coloring it in. :)

My online class is now up and running! --- So, if you'd like to see how you can make your own stamped soaps, take a look HERE. I'll be online live on the CHF Forum to chat and answer any questions tonight (Tuesday the 16th) at 8:00 pm EST.

And... I wanted to show you the new stamp releases in their entirety! This set is Kim Hughes' Comforting Hugs set:

And this is her Birthday Bash set:

The set below is Lisa Strahl's Get Well Centers set, found in the Mona Lisa Moments Collection:

You can find samples made by the CHF designers of each of these sets in the gallery:

Hope to see you tonight at the chat!!! :)

It's Release Day!!!

I wanted to show you a couple more cards that I made last night using the new sets that will be released today at Cornish Heritage Farms!

The card above was made with Mona's Get Well Centers stamps & the inside of the card reads, "There are Brighter Days Ahead". Isn't that Cosmo Cricket paper perfect for this?!?I really had a lot of fun with this card, featuring images from Kim's new set Comforting Hugs. I used a craft knife to carefully cut a slit in the tissue box and then added a piece of real tissue to the box.
(All of the details for these cards can be found in the CHF Gallery!)

Fun New Stamps Coming Your Way!!!

***note*** There are still TONS of stamps available on my 'For Sale' list! I've been updating & adding to it regularly... so go take a peek! :)

Tomorrow (Tuesday) is a big release day on the farm! Kim Hughes is releasing an awesome Birthday set called Birthday Bash! It's full of fun things like birthday cake, cupcakes, gifties, pizza & more.... all in that classically cute Kim style! :)

Kim is also releasing the CUTEST Get Well set that I've ever seen (and I'm not just saying that!) called Comforting Hugs. You're just going to die when you see it!

AND... Mona made a Sentiment set that coordinates perfectly with Kim's Comforting Hugs set called Get Well Centers! The sayings are so creative!!! If you liked Mona's other sentiment sets, you'll love this one too!

So.... want to see some sneaks? (If you want to see a supply list, each of these cards will be uploaded into the CHF Gallery on release day)

Here's a tiny card that packs a big punch! I stamped the balloon image directly onto the sentiment. They just looked like they were made for each other. :)

Above is one of the cards I made with Kim's new set. I masked a lot of the images to create some chicken soup.

And finally, here is another card I made using Kim's set along with Mona's sentiment. Yummy, huh?

Tiny Miracle

I wanted to show you a couple of the things I've made lately using Cosmo Cricket's Jack's World collection. (This was one of my favorite collections from this Summer's CHA show!) One of my friends from work is about to have her first baby and I gave her these... along with my Bun in the Oven box and some other goodies. :)

This card was made almost exclusively with Jack's World goodies... except for the 'tiny miracle' stamp (which can be found in Kim Hughes' Baby Love set by CHF). I don't know if you've read my blog for long, but a long time ago I made a post about one of my friends who was struggling with infertility. She went through several IVF treatments... and as you can see --- she's about to become a mommy! This little baby means a lot to me and after all of the prayers.... I feel like he is truly a miracle!

My "followers"

Have you guys seen this fun new widget called 'followers' that you can add to your blogs? I'd love to see who's following this blog! Just click the link on the right column. :) Thanks!!!

Birthday Treats & Sweets!

I've been creating like a mad woman lately... and for some reason, can't get myself organized enough to schedule some posts and get them on my blog! My goal next week is to get my blog back and rolling. Smile
This card is for today's CHF Color Challenge. I'd love for you to play along! AND... I have some goodies to give away soon... so let me know if you're interested in some random fun-ness! That's another one of my goals. I need to get some blog candy going AND get some things up for sale! Fall cleaning is coming soon!

This is one of those cards that comes together because of 'woopsie' moments. Smile I stamped the lollipop image in Versamark and put glitter on top... thinking it was glittery embossing powder. So... in order to keep the glitter from falling off, I covered it all with a Clear Card Sheet and sewed it in place. I kind of like the effect! Gotta love those "woopsies"! Wink

24 Carot Friend

This is a card for today's CHF Chicks' Challenge -- using Adirondack inkpads. This year I took the plunge and started using these dye-based inkpads & I'm so happy I did. They come in so many great colors! One of the things I LOVE about them is that they're compatible with Copic Markers! And... because they are dye-based, they're perfect to use when watercoloring.

Adirondack inkpads & reinkers are the product spotlight right now on the farm... which means -- They're On SALE!!! :)

Here is what Ranger says about these pads:

The Adirondack family of dye-based inks are perfect for all types of paper. They include coordinating colors of Lights, Brights & Earthtones.

The convenient, fully removable lid allows you to ink stamps more easily, color direct-to-surface, and use a brayer for inking large backgrounds.

* Acid Free
* Non-toxic
* Removable Hinged Lid
* Raised Stamping Surface
* Stackable case

Made in the U.S.A.

The bunny on this card was watercolored by squeezing the lid to the pad and picking up the ink from the lid with a Niji Waterbrush.

Make sure you check out what other ways you can use these inkpads by clicking on the other designer's links below.

Oven Template

Several of you have been asking for a template for the little oven I posted earlier last week. Hopefully these pictures will help you create your own --- but if you have any more questions, please e-mail me. :)

This is how I made mine:

  1. Trim 1/2" off of your cardstock so that your main piece is 8.5" x 10.5".
  2. Score the long side at 0.5", 3.5", 7", and 10".
  3. Score the shorter side at 2.5" and 6".
  4. Fold all of the scored marks.
  5. Cut only where you see the dark black lines in the picture below.
You now have the main base for your oven. Fold it up and use extra sticky tape to hold it together.

You will also need some accessory pieces cut from the same color of cardstock.
  • One piece cut to 3.5" x 2". Score 1.5" down as shown below. this will be the bottom "drawer" of your oven. You can add more score marks for decoration if you would like. (see original post for pictures).
  • I added a piece of a Clear Card Sheet (or acetate) to create a glass oven door. If you want to add this to your oven, just cut to size and adhere it to the back side of the "drawer" piece that you've just created. I mitered the corners of mine at the top so that it could easily open and close. (closes kind of like the top of a cereal box)
  • Cut a piece of cardstock 3.5" x 5.5". This is the back of your oven. You can add more cardstock and stamping to accessorize it with "knobs" etc.
  • You can also add a square of cardstock to the top of your oven in a contrasting color. This is where your burners will be. I stamped mine using two different floral images that reminded me of oven burners.)

So.... that's about it! I think these boxes are so adorable & I'm so glad Lauren came up with such a brilliant idea! I'd love to see your versions of these ovens too! And please... don't hesitate to e-mail me if my directions are not clear enough. Have fun! :)
